I really wanted to linger in bed this morning. It was overcast, slightly drizzly and the bed was warm. I’m sure I’d been dreaming about being with my life partner…again. I’m starting to get impatient for his arrival…I want him here with me now. I feel him in my dreams, yet I wake up alone. Maybe 2016 will be my year for an intimate relationship…I pray for it daily. Ahhhh…time over for musings. I need to get ready for the walk today. Backpack ready to go, with all my gear in it, as I’ll be sleeping at Alberta and Geoff’s tonight.
Susie’s family had been very hospitable and accommodating to have me stay with them. Young Elly and Cain had given up their respective beds (different nights) to allow me a snuggly, comfortable place to sleep. The cats, Ash, Mimi and Smeagol were so sweet and loving. I miss them already. It has made me really want a Devon Rex cat now. I felt very honoured to have been a part of this beautiful family arrangement. I am truly blessed.
I got my feet wet while walking in the surf at Nobbys Beach. I remember my children’s father worked at a bakery there when we first got married. Many interesting experiences were had while being married to him. It only lasted nine months. Just long enough to have two handsome sons from him.
I climbed up to the lookout at Miami, slowly. The view of the coast, north at Nobbys Beach and south to Miami, was glorious, especially in the early morning. Being overcast didn’t detract from the view.
I made it to the shops at Burleigh Heads and was picked up by my friends, Amanda and Sam. I only did 7kms today, as I had a party to attend.
I had my first cuddles with Amanda and Sam’s son, Mikey. He’s only three weeks old. It’s always lovely holding babies. I feel so protective of them. I did a treatment on Mikey while he slept in Amanda’s arms, he had a couple of challenges with feeding. He was slurping much better afterwards. And sleeping too.
The post-Christmas party at Geoff and Alberta’s was fun. I knew many people there and could share with them about the walk and the work the Oasis team are doing overseas and in Bangladesh. I received a number of donations. I felt very humbled by the generosity shown. Thank you and many blessings to you all.
After everyone left, Geoff, Alberta and I enjoyed sharing about the day’s activities and the upcoming Bangladesh adventure I’m soon to have. Sleep came easy in my bed (I have a permanent room at their home.)
