Reflections on Day 2 of the Brisbane to Byron Walk

The morning started with a light drizzle. I prayed it would hold off till I’d gotten to Beenleigh. At least it was cool.

I was so amazed as I walked along how I seemed to be directed to go a certain route, particular when there was a crossroad. Every time, the chosen way was always the best one.

I was surprised at how quickly I got to Waterford West, where I stopped for breakfast and a much needed coffee. Behind the shops there’s Tygum Lagoon, a peaceful picnic area with lots of trees and birds, including black swans. I went there later to rest and rejuvenate under the shade of the big trees.

Walking onwards to Beenleigh was tough over the big hills. Talk about needing endurance! I was so happy to have made it to Beenleigh Station. Another 21km covered.

My friend Kate picked me up and we went back to her place, and she ran a warm Radox bath for me. Bless her!! After dinner I went to bed and promptly fell asleep.

My inspirational thought for the day: We each have different ideas, beliefs, values, morals and differences of opinion. These differences don’t make us better than another. They just make us unique individuals.
