Reflections on Day 6 of the Brisbane to Byron Walk

Susie dropped me off at Labrador Broadwater near the fish sculptures. I would start today’s walk from here. It was a fairly easy walk along the water.

At the Southport Aquatic Centre, I was met by a couple of friends, Leesa and Alana Maxwell. They wanted to walk part of the way with me. They are so sweet. They had met a lovely lady, Renia from the UK just before I turned up. Intuitively they had stopped her and asked if she needed water, turns out she did. They got talking about the fundraising walk, and she very much inspired. She asked for a hug before she headed off, promising to donate to the Walk for the Children. What a beautiful, loving woman.

We all stopped at D’Lish Cafe at Main Beach for a coffee and rest. I finally reached the 100km mark at Surfers Paradise. Woohoo!!! Leesa and Alana headed off and I had a sweet breakfast of waffles with fruit and chocolate at Oliver Brown cafe at Surfers.

After a couple of hours relaxing and blogging, I continued the journey south to Broadbeach. A friend, Chrystelle picked me up and brought me back to her place, where I did a treatment on her and her dog, Rusty.

Susie picked me up when I was finished and we went back to her place for Xmas dinner leftovers and a spa before bed. I completed 10kms today.

Inspirational Thought – Keep to your goals and don’t allow yourself to be distracted by that which is not part of your purpose.
